Legacy of Courage
Dana Fletcher was a master musician and loving family head who always sought to teach and assist in every way possible. He spent the majority of his life volunteering his personal time, energy and resources to encourage others, especially those who were victims of various forms of institutional corruption. On October 27, 2019 Dana met an untimely death at the age of 39, as he became a victim of police brutality and was unjustly killed by Madison, Alabama police.
As family members of Dana, we have experienced the paralyzing trauma we seek to help others learn how to thrive past. We understand the difficulties involved in rewiring our entire existence in order to successfully cope and flourish beyond our trauma. We stand in support of our fellow survivors and seek to inspire them to courageously blossom.
To amplify Dana's brave example and inspire others to be courageous in the face of traumatic, institutional corruption; and to embolden people to Bravely Cope & Thrive Past Trauma™
A "Support Package" is a tailored set of items that acknowledges the recipient's loss and extends support from the DFF community. Packages can include essential home and personal goods, relaxing music, vouchers for guided nature walks, professional therapy sessions, even a dietician or personal trainer - items that are useful, thoughtful, stress relieving and empowering to the survivor.
DFF, Inc. aims to Help Others Psychologically Evolve beyond their trauma into a thriving equilibrium by experiencing the peaceful and balancing power of nature.
Every second Sunday of each month, we've hosted a FREE guided hike for trauma survivors. A Hiking pack is provided for new participants along with water and snacks for everyone each hike.
We use sound as a relating tool, coping agent and courage-building mechanism to stimulate and rejuvenate the traumatized psyche into mental balance.
Whether it be one-on-one counseling with certified counselors, meeting with motivational speakers or attending support groups, we aim to help victims connect with others who'll guide them in developing and maintaining a positive understanding of their personal value and importance, empowering them to be bold in their healing. We regularly host these meets to exchange much needed encouragement with fellow survivors.
DFF, Inc. aids in combating the paralyzing effects of trauma by hosting events with positive, regular movement. Outside of our hikes, we've also hosted yoga and biking events.
The aforementioned tools are just a few that can help advance the healing process.
Help Others Psychologically Evolve™
We appreciate all contributions that have helped survivors cope and thrive.
